Get Married in the German Alps.
In all the years of doing destination wedding videography I’ve always wanted to film a wedding in the German Alps, the fresh, crisp air, the incredible scenery, the food, what’s not to like?
So when Alice and Jan got in touch and said they were doing just that I jumped at the chance to film my very first wedding in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (I’m not sure how to pronounce it either!) in the German Alps and I’m so glad I did. It was blimmin glorious!
The Wedding Destination Of a Lifetime
I knew I’d need an extra pair of hands for this one, so I called on my fellow videographer Amy to be my wing woman and we flew out to Germany to the wedding destination of a lifetime, the beautiful Alps.
We were up early on the morning of the wedding capturing Alice getting ready with her bridesmaids whilst Jan and his crew readied the venue for the wedding and party.
Alice and Jan tied the knot under the shadow of huge evergreen trees on the side of the mountain surrounded by their family and friends. The views stretched for miles and we were able to go even further up the mountain in Jeeps to capture some footage of Alice and Jan enjoying a moment together away from the party down below in the picturesque alpine scenery.
Celebration Barrels, Signposts and Ping Pong.
You know I’m a sucker for creative, zesty wedding videography and this wedding was a feast for the eyes, celebration barrels of authentic German beer, (which Alice was tasked with opening with a mallet), multicoloured signposts, friends pitching in to put up marquees between rounds of rotating ping pong (who knew rotating ping pong was a thing!) Hilarious AND heart-warming speeches and Amy and I got to capture it all. I love my job!
So if you’re looking for destination wedding videography, whether it’s up the German Alps or on the coast of Corfu get in touch, this could be the beginning of an incredible wedding adventure.
